2. Peter Garrett

Peter Garrett (born 1953) is an Australian musician, environmentalist, and former politician. He was born in Tumut, another town within the Hilltops region. Garrett is best known as the former lead singer of the internationally acclaimed rock band Midnight Oil. He later served as a member of the Australian House of Representatives from 2004 to 2013, representing the Division of Kingsford Smith.

3. Mary Gilmore

Mary Gilmore (1865-1962), born Mary Jean Cameron, was a renowned Australian poet, journalist, and social reformer. Although not born in the Hilltops region, Gilmore spent a significant part of her life in the Yass area, which is part of the present-day Hilltops region. 4. Geoff Lawson

Geoff Lawson (born 1957) is a former Australian cricketer, commentator, and coach. He was born in Junee, which lies within the Hilltops region. Lawson had a successful career as a fast bowler, representing the Australian national cricket team from 1980 to 1989. After retiring from professional cricket, he ventured into cricket commentary and also held coaching roles in various cricket teams.

5. Ada Cambridge

Ada Cambridge (1844-1926), born Ada Cross, was an Australian writer and poet. While not a native of the Hilltops region, she resided in the town of Yass for a significant period of time. Cambridge authored numerous novels, short stories, and poems throughout her career and is considered one of the notable literary figures of her time.
